Overview #

The Yealink RT30 DECT Repeater extends the wireless DECT coverage of compatible Yealink base stations.
It communicates wirelessly with the base station and only requires a standard power outlet. It does not require an Ethernet/network connection.
The RT30 is compatible with both the Yealink W70B and W60B.
Minimum Firmware #
- W70B: 146.85.0.15 or later
- W60B: 77.81.0.35 or later
- RT30: 83.0.0.22 or later
Note: The versions above are the minimum for basic compatibility. To support four simultaneous calls, Yealink requires the W70B to be at 146.85.0.35 or later (the RT30 must still be 83.0.0.22 or later).
DECT Range #
The W60B/W70B has an indoor DECT range of up to approximately 50 meters (164 feet) under ideal conditions.
Actual range can be reduced by walls, concrete, metal shelving, machinery, and other obstacles.
The RT30 must be placed within the DECT coverage of the base station. It cannot be placed somewhere completely outside the base station’s signal range.
How to Pair the RT30 #
1. Plug in the RT30 #
Initially, plug the RT30 into a power outlet near the W60B/W70B.
2. Enable Repeater Mode #
Using a cordless handset registered to the base:
Settings → System Settings → Repeater Mode
Enable Repeater Mode and allow the base station to reboot if prompted.
The cordless handset is only used to enable the repeater setting. The handset does not pair directly with the RT30.
3. Put the Base Into Registration Mode #
Press and hold the Paging/Registration button on the W60B/W70B until the first LED begins flashing green.
4. Register the RT30 #
The RT30 should automatically detect the base station and register.
Once registration is successful, the RT30’s DECT LED will indicate a successful connection.
5. Move the RT30 #
After it is registered, unplug the RT30 and move it to the desired location.
Plug it into a standard power outlet and allow it to reconnect to the base.
No network cable or network outlet is required at the RT30 location.
Important Placement Rule #
The RT30 should be placed within the existing DECT coverage of the W60B/W70B.
For example:
W70B → RT30 → Extended Coverage
Do not place the RT30 so far away that it cannot receive a reliable DECT signal from the base.
W60B Compatibility #
Yes. The RT30 works with both the W60B and W70B, provided the required firmware versions are installed.
The pairing and installation process is essentially the same for both models.
Quick Troubleshooting #
If the RT30 does not register:
- Confirm Repeater Mode is enabled.
- Make sure the base is in registration mode.
- Move the RT30 closer to the base and try again.
- Verify the firmware versions.
- Reboot the base and RT30 and retry the registration.
If the RT30 works near the base but not in the desired location, the repeater is likely too far from the base or there are physical obstacles interfering with the DECT signal.
