🧾 Overview #
If your bank or financial institution informs you that they cannot verify your phone number, the issue is usually not related to Dataphone or your phone service provider. Instead, banks typically verify phone numbers through third-party data aggregators like LexisNexis, which pull information from public and official records—not directly from your telecom provider.
⚠️ Important Note from Dataphone #
Dataphone does not have the legal or physical ability to add, remove, or change your phone number information in LexisNexis or similar databases.
These records are controlled by external data sources such as government filings, credit bureaus, public records, and business directories. You (the customer) must update or confirm your information directly with these sources.
🔧 Why Your Bank Checks LexisNexis #
- Banks and lenders rely on LexisNexis and other data aggregators to:
- Verify your identity
- Confirm your contact details
- Check business legitimacy (for business accounts)
If LexisNexis does not have your current phone number on record, the bank may flag the number as unverifiable, even if your phone service is fully active and functioning.
